This is forever one of my favorite things that we do – and this all spawned from the kids’ ideas (because, friends, the kids have the best ides!).
MATERIALS
- Face Paint
- I cannot find a link to these exact paints shown, but here is the link to my ultimate favorite face paint EVER
- Acrylic Mirrors (so the kids can watch themselves while they paint!)
- Acrylic is IMPORTANT. If you use regular mirrors they can shatter if they fall.
- Mini Easels (ours are from IKEA)
DIRECTIONS
Set up the mirrors around a table so that multiple friends can do it at the same time. Next, spread your paints around the table and then just let them go to town.
I was impressed with the amount of time each child took while painting their faces. I don’t remember anybody rushing through, but rather they were intentional and very strategic in what/how they painted (all the while I melted onto the floor in a puddle of mush because watching this is so sweet).
Lean in. When they ask to paint your face – and they’re going to ask – please just think about it before you instinctually say “no.” It’s really fun and the kids feel REALLY, REALLY cool getting to paint an adult. Plan for it, friends!
