“Color Factory” Shaving Cream Play

We have shaving cream available almost every single school day and it’s the first stop for several of our littles. In fact, the way our outside area is set up this is the first thing you encounter when you walk outside and some days there are kids who don’t ever make it past here.

MATERIALS

• Shaving Cream

• Eye Droppers

• Liquid Watercolors

• Plastic Cups

• Optional: Shallow Tray (ours are from the Target Dollar Spot and they usually carry them during the back-to-school season)

DIRECTIONS

Prep several containers full of fresh, white shaving cream. The more the merrier (for real!). Next, add plastic cups of liquid watercolors with eyedroppers. Note: 99% of the time we do not dilute our liquid watercolors and this is the other 1%. They’re going to use a LOT so we dilute. Invite the littles to use the “color factory” to make new colors, imaginative concoctions, and lots of open-ended-play!
