How to make chalk bat Halloween art

  1. Print out the bat outline template and have your child carefully cut it out.
  2. Use a small piece of tape to attach the cut-out bat to a piece of black paper.
  3. Invite your child to take their chalk and color around the edge of the bat, making sure to extend the chalk about an inch out from the bat’s perimeter.
  4. Once the entire bat is surrounded, have your child use their finger to smudge the chalk outwards, creating a soft, glowing effect.
  5. Gently remove the bat cutout to reveal a spooky bat silhouette.

💡 Teacher Tip: Lightly spray finished art with hairspray to set the chalk and prevent smudging.
